How would should I go about setting up an ebook business on a blog?

I want to create my own ebook business running from a blog rather than a website. I don't yet have the designing expertise to make my own website, nor the money to run it, which is why a blog may be a better solution for me. How would I go about setting the blog up so that I can be paid directly (using paypal) and how would I go about promoting my blog? ThanksHow would should I go about setting up an ebook business on a blog?
Hello! I would recommend going with the best blogging platforms, thus you will get cached faster by google, because they use ping services.

I tried other places like www.marsblogger.com or www.wordpress.com. Both are great places to build blogs and give you great templates too. All of them are free, you don't need to waste any money. How would should I go about setting up an ebook business on a blog?
You are asking a lot here but this is what you could do.

If you have no money, you can create a blog using Blogger, HubPages or Squidoo. They are all free.

If you have some money then get yourself a domain name via GoDaddy and a Hosting account that includes CPanel and Fantasticos. This has a script that will install a wordpress blog pretty much on automatic.

There are plugins available for doing things with PayPal.

Blog promotion is a big challenge and is almost the holy grail. Assuming there are enough people interested, make sure you ping your posts, use social bookmarking sites, go on other blogs and post comments, forums etc. As I say, it;s a huge topic but this will get you started.

Maximus,

You do need a web host, a free site wont work for business. The host will only cost about $40. for everything you need.

I suggest using Wordpress to create the website, it comes with your host.

I help people start their own websites and I dont charge for helping. You may contact me if you wish. How would should I go about setting up an ebook business on a blog?
e-junkie is a great place to start selling your ebook. You upload to there, they give you buttons for your website, blog, squidoo lens, etc. Once you get a few sold, I'd move to ClickBank. There you can start getting some affiliates to promote your product so you don't have to do it all and they will take care of the affiliate process. (e-junkie has an affiliate program too, but you have to handle paying your affiliates yourself which can be a hassle)
