Is it absolutely necessary to get good pencils?

I starting to draw now (im mediocre at best) and i want to know how important good supply's are.

Right now im using a 0.9 Led, Mechanical Pencil (its feels comfortable).

And sometimes I like to use Golf pencils (They're sharp, They feel comfortable in my hand, and since i cant erase with them, I end up going over bad lines which seems to help)

Should I get better pencils? And what should I do when I want to draw? (setting, lighting etc.)Is it absolutely necessary to get good pencils?
I agree with the other replies however, you should maximize your talents first with regular pencils. If you do this you will have no choice but to master shading and pressure. I can do just about anything with a 2 pencil. With the %26quot;professional%26quot; or artist grade pencils you will achieve these things quicker, and with slightly more dynamics but, if you want to become a better artist, better skill will always beat better equipment. Is it absolutely necessary to get good pencils?
it doesn't matter what you use to draw. drawing is a passion, not a machine! you don't need fancy pencils or any of that, as long as you're proud of your creation. Is it absolutely necessary to get good pencils?
Best thing to have, as an artist that fancies pencils, would be a pencil set that ranges from

6H--%26gt; HB---%26gt;6B

H is a hard pencil. Which means that it is more difficult to get a dark line. Keep the image light for placement. HB is right in the middle... like your everyday 2 Ticonderoga pencil. 6B is a soft pencil and allows the image to get dark like charcoal. Its a nice way to slowly add depth into the drawing. Is it absolutely necessary to get good pencils?
Hhm... I agree, It's not the tool that makes the beautiful creations, its the artist that does. The medium, or tool do not matter; heck, you could even paint with your blood :)! But fanshy pencils help the artist who is constantly drawing realistic drawings by allowing them to add a WIDE range of values and textures, in return producing quality works. (if the artist has quality skill of course %26gt;.%26lt;)
