How do I get the metallica sound on my amp?

I have a crate FW120h amp and I just can't seem to get the hard crunch sound that metallica has. if anyone has an amp like this or just knows how to set it to a metallica sound please help I realize I may need a pedal but I know theres a way to at least get it close to the sound.
