I had it set up where my laptop was connected to the printer attatched to my downstairs computer, but then a virus came in and messed everything up. how do i set it up again?

First off, you will need to go to the printer's manufacturer's website on your laptop and download/install the drivers needed for that printer.
Secondly, go to Printers (Control Panel) and add a Network printer.

Share the printer downstairs... Get your IP Address like this START, RUN in run type %26quot;cmd%26quot; a Black Box pops up type %26quot;ipconfig%26quot;
Now goto your laptop Open My Computer or Computer on Vista or START, RUN %26quot;\\ ipaddress%26quot;
