How to set it up in an algebra question?

Andrew's scores on his first four tests were 85, 65, 87, and 75. What will he have to score on his next test to obtain an average of at least 80 for the term?How to set it up in an algebra question?
averages are calculated as follows:

(score1+score2+score3+score4+.........?n)/n

in this case, there are 5 tests, therefore the average = (85 + 65 + 87 + 75 + x)/5 (x is what he has to get in the last test)

we need to have an average of 80 therefore, (85 + 65 + 87 + 75 + x)/5 = 80

multiply both sides by 5-----%26gt;(85 + 65 + 87 + 75 + x) = 400

simplify---------------%26gt; 312 + x = 400

x = 400 - 312 = 88

good luck!How to set it up in an algebra question?
5 tests right?

5x80= 400

so 85 + 65 + 87 + 75 + X= 400

X= 88

Andrew must get at least 88 on his next test to gain an average of 80 :)How to set it up in an algebra question?
(85+65+87+75+x)/5=80

80*5=85+65+87+75+x

400=x+312

x=88

Andrew will need at least an 88.
