How do i get my 21 month old daughter to eat fruits and veggies?

I have a little picky eater on my hands. She will not try anything new and will not eat fruit or veggies. I have to mix it in with foods and even then she will spit it out. Like putting corn in mashed potatoes she spits it out. And she won't try fruit at all, as soon as she touches it she throws it down. I'm pretty sure it's the slimy otherwise juicy texture. Because she doesn't even taste it. I really want her to snack on healthy fruits but how do i get her to try them without making a smoothy every time. She won't even drink the whole fruit smoothy only a couple sips. I'm tired of wasting soo much food when i really can't afford to. Also she never eats what we eat, I won't give in to her and give her something she wants. Normally I put it on her plate and if she doesn't eat it I set it aside for later. Then later when she is fussy and hungry I try to give it to her again and she absolutely refuses. She would rather go to bed with no dinner then eat something new. Please help, this is seriously the only thing she is picky with and i know it's normal but I don't think it's good for her to go without dinner every night because it's what were eating. Help please!How do i get my 21 month old daughter to eat fruits and veggies?

What you could do is make the food fun for her. If you want her to eat, for example, carrots, cut them thin, add other things for color, like celery, and make up a cute name for it. I called them party stix. My child ate them like candy. Try to make the food festive, fun and inviting. Make it look like candy and give it fun names. Don't call broccoli by it's real name; call them trees. Let her %26quot;eat away the forest of green to save the potato pixies%26quot; or something like that.

And if ur child is impressionable, let her watch lazy town on Nick JR. They call fruits %26quot;sports candy.%26quot;

That sounds pretty appealing, don't you think?How do i get my 21 month old daughter to eat fruits and veggies?
Try giving her cool whip and chocolate syrup to dip the fruit in.

Slice cucumbers and carrots super thin and give her ranch dressing.

If it's just the texture she doesn't like she won't be able to resist the yummy ranch. I trick lots of kids that way into liking fruits and veggies they normally refuse. It is extra calories, but it's not something you plan on doing all the time.

Also, sneak extra veggies cut up really fine into her hamburgers, macaroni, and other favorites.How do i get my 21 month old daughter to eat fruits and veggies?
puree and mash stuff to hide it, you can add pumpkin or sweet potato to mashed potato and it can be special 'fairy mash' because it's orange. Puree or grate zucchini or carrot into pasta sauces, you can alter the same food you eat, so she cant pick things out, same with fruit, try diced fruit in jelly or custard or if she wont eat died swirl fruit puree through it, you can even swirl it through yogurt.

keep putting a few pieces of chunky veggies in so she sees them, she'll pick them out and not thing so notice the stuff you've pureeedHow do i get my 21 month old daughter to eat fruits and veggies?
I always offer something my older daughter (2.5) likes and then a veggie she really doesn't. A bite of the veggie then a bit of the other. It isn't really an option. She knows it, so she eats it. If your daughter won't eat what you fix, then she doesn't eat. Eventually she will.

EDIT - saw someone else mention Ranch dressing and both my daughters love that.How do i get my 21 month old daughter to eat fruits and veggies?
Try Stoneyfield Farms 3 in 1 Meals (fruit, veggies, and yogurt). Some of the combos sound strange, like pears and green beans, but they are delicious! Did you try freezing your smoothies so that she can eat them as ice pops? Frozen bananas dipped in chocolate always works. A little chocolate is okay once in a while. Limit her intake of liquids if you are not already doing so. Maybe water, juice, and milk are filling her up. It could be a result of teething, but you should always check out any concerns with your doctor.
