This has been my basic problem since buying the Camera. Can anybody give me a simple step by step guide to setting up my Camera ( it's the 6MXL version ). Yes, it's easy to say look at the manual, but I'm slow to say the least. In the store they were not exactly helpful as I would have liked. Nevertheless, my previous requests have not fallen on deaf ears. Many thanks in advance !Info on how to take photos in low light conditions with a Canon Powershot S3 IS?
If your camera has a night mode, use it. It'll boost the ISO, open the aperture and slow the shutter speed. Expect your pictures to be grainy.Info on how to take photos in low light conditions with a Canon Powershot S3 IS?
Sorry, but a manual is still VERY important. You would learn a LOT from it, even if it takes you longer.
Put your camera on a tripod or some other form of support, and use the self timer (that will further help to reduce camera shake).
Try the P setting until you've read a few books on photography and you begin to understand what you're missing out on by NOT using manual settings.
Higher ISO gives you better low light speed, but more noise/grain in your photos.
