I always thought if you take anything past 130-140 degrees your going to kill bacteria anyway. How high does a dryer go anyway without this setting?Does the anti-bacterial setting on clothes dryers work?
The anti-bacterial setting on the newer dryers work very well. It is a common misconception that if you go just above 100 degrees it will kill all the bacteria. In truth there are many forms of bacteria that can live in 100's of degrees and they keep adapting as well. Usually the anti bacterial setting includes a steam set and sanitizes at the same time, it doesn't get everything but it does a good job of it. I'm not really sure how high the temp. goes on one of those though.
